This blog is about chemical peels. With the wide web at your fingertips I won't get deep into its definition. But the lazy of those who can't be arsed to change pages its a chemical process of removing/exfoliating the top layer of your skin usually dead skin and damaged cells while also stimulating healthy cell growth to promote glowing even skin and tone. Remember St Ives face scrub? You do? yeah you need a chemical peel. Those are mechanical exfoliators and one I don't recommend as they tend to damage the skin barrier in their exfoliative process.
In my clinic in Portsmouth, Port Solent I offer a variety of chemical peels and love its combination treatment with Skin boosters like Seventy Hyal and Profhilo. With an even bigger skin boost when you add your regular Botox treatment?, that's an instant glow for sure. Peels range in not just the acid balance and its chemical properties but every brand has something unique about them. For instance I love Fillmed Bright peel as a gentle but also super skin brightening peel that can be done at the same time as injectables. Thats a plus as there are few. Then I also love Biorepeel as a powerful peel that combines Salycic acid, lactic acid and its own unique property that protects the skin while creating chemical changes within the skin. But the mackdaddy of my collection is Enerpeel.
Enerpeel like most brands has a gimmick or a niche cuz it actually works. Where not only is there an exfoliating factor we are looking at an intrinsic.....within the skin, cells changes. But we are not here for science we are here to see radical results and how it was achieved. Chemical peels are perfect for acne scars, active acne, pigmentation and melasma, rosacea, dull skin and even oily skin. Its application is huge and if I didn't list you on here COMMENT IN THE COMMENT SECTION TO SEE IF ITS RIGHT FOR YOU. This particular client underwent over 2 years of chemical peels not as regular as she should due to multiple reasons, alongside micro needling.
I am so happy to present her current skin state pic on the left. Where we both got a smidge wobbly. But her skin concerns was dull skin, and deep acne ice pick scars, uneven skin tone with some pigmentation. The last peel was using a TCA peel by Enerpeel at 25% one of the strongest peels I offer in clinic. This is for deep skin remodelling while creating fibroblast activity stimulating collagen and elastin. Also hyaluronic acid stimulation and we mall need the hydration. Now is this peel for everyone?n Possibly but my selection criteria involves also prep[ping the skin beforehand with medical grade skin care which can prevent any skin adverse reactions like hyperpigmentation and erythema with
skin irritation. The downtime was about a week to 10 days and here's a lil photo of her downtime. I get way too excited at pictures like this. But we had to plan when she would have this perfectly to avoid the sun and people. Hence winter a wonderful time for peels. Her aftercare was veery rigid which was SPF, Vitamin C, Growth Factors derived from snails (another blog completely). Recommendation for this is 3 sessions 4 weeks apart. But the dictator that I am I like to give the skin a break. So.
You're welcome
