All over social media I am seeing many surgeons, nurses, doctors and educators within the field saying not to compare surgical results to dermal fillers. But what Im not hearing them say is why.
Client consultations in my experience generally has the expectation that having Dermal fillers and Botox treatments will result in a face lift-like results.
Exhibit A is the face I'm pulling shown here. Unfortunately this is not possible as using Fillers is a Non-Surgical approach that places hyaluronic acid a Gel like substance that is quite fluid depending on the type used and sits intadermally or deep to bone. It will deliver a lift and volumise the area placed. But its not a magical staple gun that will hold layers of fat and excess skin up.
Dermal fillers will give a natural and realistic lift when placed carefully and strategecally. But this is not surgery, its soft surgery.
So if you ever go in for a treatment and pull your face upwards expecting that result from fillers. Think again. Your Medical practitioner could direct you to other options like PDO threads and then Surgery depending on the outcome you want.
And if you come to me pulling that face I will kindly advise on the realistic and natural results I can deliver.
As always Nurse Sam
