Right there's the technical part about Both and there's the debunking aspect. So why don't wee dumb it down, by no way are you dumb, but when I read "Prescribing for Idiots" I understand the need to dumb it down!
So lets get technical...... Firstly Botox (TM) is a trade name which means it is a brand, one of the first brands really and with its popularity and history easily became known just as Botox (TM). Whereas Botulinum Toxin A is the actual drug that is used and is seen in multiple brands and manufacturers for instance Azzalure, Bocouture. The top 3 for a long time actually and the only ones licensed for use within the UK.
The actions from Botox (TM) very simply is to stop the movement of muscles. Simple as. So when YOU send a message to your forehead for instance to frown, it just does not oblige. Therefore its Cosmetic use is to PREVENT and REDUCE the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stopping you frowning for those pesky 11 lines the deep ridges are given no opportunity to form. But the deep crease is already there, Botox (TM) relaxes and softens it a bit, then you have the opportunity to use other skin resurfacing treatments to get rid of it completely.
Longevity of Botox (TM) a huge question with such varying results between people its hard to predict. Manufacturers state12 weeks with the muscle activity slowly returning from 5 weeks. So it is a regular and repetitive treatment if you want to keep the results. Now my favourite part with longevity of Botox (TM) is lifestyle factors which is part of the variant with people. We are all unique and lifestyles so different. Botox (TM) has been found to have reduced longevity and efficay inn those who smoke, high metabolism or excersise excessively (what does that mean? Im on couch to 5k week 1 I think im a factor too...) and those who drink heavily (sad times).
Now some of you may have heard of some new Botox (TM) reecently licenseed in the UK and they are not Brand new to the inductry as they have beeen used in the USA and China. But only just received licensing for use within the UK. They are Leytbo and Nucevia. Now these types of Botox (TM) clain faster onset and longevity....This is also exciting as those variables of a people mentionned above would benefit from this advanced Botox (TM).
Now that you know eveerything about Botox. In Part 2 Ill just tell you some more. I find the use of Botox (TM) within my Clinic in Portsmouth Hampshire the most popular and definitely a favourite for my clients there. Results are on point every time!
Is Botox (TM) a favourite of yours?
