Rant about non registered professionals....?

Nope, non here. I respect all Professionals in their field. Did you even know that Nurses, Pharmacists etc are called Non Medical Professionals as we are not Medical Doctors and when we do our Prescribing its in Non Medical Prescribing..... Bet you didn't know that. Whilst beauticians and hairdressers are either technicians or unregistered professionals.

I guess I did have a rant this morning... While sitting in the infamous M27 traffic jaunt in to a Mandatory training. My mind has been boggling since I saw a beauty tech who has never touched a needle in her life booking in for Lemon Bottle fat dissolving. Now for those who know Lemon Bottle is an unregistered fat dissolving drug that is administered in the submental area and really anywhere there is fat that its dictated. by safety zones. Many Medics have contacted the company for some research and data and we were ignored, myself included. So to say the least I won't touch this at all.

But yet we have so many unregistered professionals jumping on this money train with no thought of patient/client safety. Then I ended up in my own head. FYI super fun place to be with friends not alone. And I reflected on the many ways I maintain patient safety. I mean 13 years of supporting patients within the NHS (emergency care too) and 4years in the private sector. There is no way I would be caught delivering any service to you without annual BLS or basic life support. Matter of fact I am Advanced Life Support trained. Also training in Anaphylaxis and. its management. Then the matter of my registration which I keep updated with the NMC Nurse and Midwifery Council. Delivering proof of Safety and Patient. care a according to our core values, delving into feedback and ways it can improve my care...

The list truly is endless as I am also on the registration with the BACN British Aesthetics and Cosmetic Nurses who ensure safety and high standards of care within. this field. Not to forget my RCN Royal College of Nurses, and the multiple trainings I undertake to ensure I am safe and delivering evidence based care.

Finally I was told of a case that was taken to criminal court of a beauty tech who misused their place of power and was abusing its clients. unbeknownst to them the person had criminal convictions. Did you know as a self employed person you don't need to be on the DBS? Boggled I tell you as a nurse this is something we have ongoing to safeguard and protect our patients.

Right im exhausted. What was my point? Safety? Choose wisely? Do your research?

Insurance is constantly touted as a way these non registered professionals ensure safety but honestly the insurance companies once involved in a case defer back to all afore mentioned if you have a case at hand.

I rant no more. I wish I could help you choose the right practitioner for you. Social media is great but a bit misleading. Rather have t here questions at hand and book a consultation so the conversation can start.
